Taylor is back from another summer at camp. Big Brother 8 is winding down after the most boring summer in the show’s history. I suppose Warmie is back to the old grind and her woman-child is back in classes for another year. It is time to get back in the swing of autumn and winter in Alberta.

With a week of training camp behind them in Whitehorse, the Edmonton Oilers are getting ready for what we all hope is an exciting season. At work we are ordering tire chains and readying our trucks for the treacherous winter driving that Albertan weather presents us with each year.

Stories around the office, for the benefit of the new member’s of the dispatch and operations team at Direct Transport are turning to TURKEY Holidays. They have been through a few long weekends and 10% Tuesday run-ups. They figure they can handle anything Safeway might throw at us. Matt has acquired his class one licence. I am certain after Thanksgiving and Christmas, if not just Thanksgiving he will wish he had never done so. Everyone with a class 1 licence, manager or driver, is going to be on the road delivering the traditional feast birds of the seasons. For me the onset of the Turkey Holidays is faced with a little fear and trepidation, but with excitement as the pace is going to be fast and furious for the company, the drivers and for me. BRING IT ON!!

So with autumn in the air, the temperature dropping and the leaves changing, it is time for me to get back to blogging. Since this is a season of change, perhaps it is time to change what I do here. Perhaps it is time for what I have always wanted to do with my blog. Blogging about those things I find important. Of course I will still be dropping in some humour as I find a lot of everyday life humourous, and I love it. There is no way I could ever do this without dropping in the odd story about things in my day to day existence that amuse me. But most of all I think it is time to blog about the goings on in our Country, our Province and our neighbourhoods. Who knows what might come of it down the road?

Perhaps people won’t be interested in my opinions. Who cares? I want to make this my place to put my thoughts. As such, it is going to be full of what I think about what I read in the papers, see on t.v. and experience while out in the vastly interesting society in which we live. Of course it won’t all be about trucking regulations and the stupid drivers in Alberta. We get enough of that on the Yellowhead Trail each day. So, if you are interested in what is going through the mind of an average working dude in Edmonton, Alberta, stay tuned!

It is going to get interesting around here.
